ACCESS is by 4 steps up from parking area to roadside porch. (Or 8 very gentle steps to ocean side deck built when our large dog had hip problems. They may make carrying luggage easier). The front door, onto roadside deck, has an electronic lock. A 4-digit code will be set for your stay.
GROUND FLOOR Includes: Modest LIVING ROOM with a spectacular ocean view, a small woodstove, and a dining room nook with table & chairs (seats 6). Fully equipped KITCHEN including frig, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, small kitchen appliances, linens, cookware, service and glassware for 6. One BATHROOM, with tiled tub/shower, toilet and sink. Two BEDROOMS. The master bedroom includes the writers nook, a private quiet spot for viewing, reflecting, composing. The second bedroom, away from the ocean views: this room is great if you've had too much sun! It also has the small library, and curtained off laundry machines.
The LOFT, up a standard flight of steps, includes: 2 double beds (one a futon couch), plus indoors entertainment facilities such as cards, games, puzzles, and flatscreen smart TV.
Three scenic hours by car from Portland airport, 2 hrs from Eugene airport. Well-behaved pets welcome. Wavecatcher is located on the sandy beaches of the central Oregon coast, 3 miles south of Waldport and 5 miles north of Yachats. Rocky basalt outcrops great for tidepooling are about 5 miles north and also south of the cottage.
HOUSEKEEPING: Check in 3pm, Checkout 11 am (required for housekeeping!). You will find Wavecatcher clean and ready for you, with made beds and linens in obvious locations. There are no housekeeping/room services available during your stay. You are responsible for getting the used bedding and towels through the washer and into the dryer before leaving, for washing/putting away all kitchen items, and for returning items used and furniture moved to their original location.
